Law Pathways Panel

Kathryn leads the Young Lawyers Section at the Law Institute of Victoria, the peak membership organisation for the legal profession in Victoria. She began her career as a project finance lawyer in Melbourne and London. Transitioning to the LIV, she served as a policy lawyer before taking on her current role. Kathryn now combines her passions by supporting law students and young lawyers in finding their career paths and advocating for an inclusive profession that prioritises the well-being of young lawyers.

Richard Hutchings, Partner, at Cornwalls, has a broad range of experience in advising on construction contracts and construction disputes. He acts for developers, builders, subcontractors, owners’ corporations and owners in front-end contract drafting and back-end construction disputes and litigation. Richard approaches his work with commercial outcomes in mind. He spent time as in-house counsel with the Victorian Government’s urban renewal authority and with a firm acting for insurers, and he understands what is truly important to his clients.

Ruchika is a solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer and is currently completing her third rotation as part of the graduate program in the Real Estate team. She previously rotated in the M&A and Takeovers team and the Projects Energy and Infrastructure (Corporate) team. Ruchika completed a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance) and Bachelor of Law (Honours) at Monash University in 2023.

Jessica Quinn-Quigley is a Lawyer at Duffy & Simon Lawyers. She graduated with honours from Monash University in 2024 and was admitted to practice in December of the same year. Having completed the Duffy and Simon Clerkship, Jessie was offered a permanent position specialising in Wills, Estates and Probate. Jessie's ability to navigate these complexities with empathy and precision makes her a valuable asset to her clients and the firm.
