Preparing for the Final Showcase
As we prepare for our final event of the year — the Law Ambassador Showcase — our team is excited to reflect on everything we’ve achieved through the Monash Law Ambassador Program. We’re proud to be in the running to secure $1000 in funding for the NetworkedIn team in 2026, and grateful for the opportunity to share our work with the broader LAP community.
One of our proudest milestones was hosting the 2025 Networking Night on Thursday, 21 August at Monash Law Chambers - our largest and most impactful event to date.
Bringing together over 150 law students and 12 legal professionals across commercial, criminal, family, and public interest law, the evening was a vibrant celebration of connection, mentorship, and shared experience. Through three dynamic panels - Corporate Law in Action, Law on the Front Lines, and Navigating the Legal Profession - students gained candid insights into the realities of legal practice, from building client relationships to safeguarding wellbeing in emotionally demanding roles.
We were honoured to welcome keynote speaker Kathryn Smith, whose thoughtful address set the tone for an evening of authenticity and branching out. Special thanks also to our panellists: Campbell Johnston, Robert Meade, Mahmoud Kashoa, Peter Sise, Emma Turnbull, Shehara Skilbeck, Richard Hutchings, Ruchika Bilagi Sandesh, Jessica Quinn-Quigley, and team mentor, Coroner Simon McGregor, for their generosity and guidance.

In addition to our major event, we partnered with Monash Career Connect to deliver a tailored interview skills workshop led by Monash career practitioners. This session provided students with practical strategies to strengthen their professional presence and navigate recruitment processes with confidence through mock interviews.
We’ve also been developing a suite of networking resources, including exploratory work on AI-powered tools that combine technological innovation with legal practice - part of our broader effort to make professional development more accessible, adaptive, and future-focused.
This year’s program was designed to foster growth through community, shared wisdom, and the courage to step into new challenges. Whether you were attending your first networking event or sharing decades of experience, we hope our initiatives left you inspired to explore new pathways in law and build meaningful connections along the way.
